Meta: Caning & Exhibitionsim

Alright, so this slightly rambling (probably completely rambling) essay is meta to finish up my [info]kink_bingo double line extra, Caning & Exhibitionism. Let me say, that in my defense, I did try to write a fic for this (Mirrorverse Kirk/Sulu/Chekov, with Chekov being punished with a public caning). It really didn't work out, for many reasons, but it did get me thinking about my favorite fandoms and how a prompt like this would fit into the canon/style of different fandoms.
First, a bit of characterization about the kink itself. I have always found caning to be a rather unusual kink, not because it is particularily hardcore, but because its more basic form, spanking, is used so much more often in fanfiction. Other derivatives of spanking include whipping (which has popular connotations of hardcore BDSM), flogging (which sounds vaguely historical to me, but otherwise I will admit to knowing little about), and paddling (which screams either British boarding school or fraternity hazing, depending on your background). Comparatively, caning seems rather refined, associated with strict teachers and parenting in the 17th century.
Adding exhibitionism to the mix, and the immediate association is public humiliation, public punishment (hence the subject of my aborted story). The person giving the caning wants to make an example out of the person receiving it, or simply wants to humiliate them. There is definitely an aspect of non/dub-con, and the event can be pulled off completely non-sexually as well.
With that in mind, I have come up with scenarios for three different fandoms that I am familiar with:
Ah, the colonial era. When disobedient boys were ordered out back to cut their own switches. Supposedly, the anticipation of the beating would add an aspect of emotional distress to the punishment.
It is canon that America and England had a parent/child relationship, and that Canada lived with them for at least part of the time. America strikes me as a very rambunctious child, especially towards his increasingly rebellious teenage years. England, desperate to assert control once and for all, would order America to cut his own switch. Fuming, America would comply, his super strength making short work of the task and rather subverting the mental manipulation which was the point of the exercise. No matter, England would still make the most of this punishment.
He orders Canada forward to watch. Either Canada was a reluctant part of America’s latest scheme (in which case he needs to see his brother made an example of), or he was the one who told on America (and therefore there is extra brotherly angst). Either way, America would balk at being punished in front of his brother, hating how weak it makes him look. The flames of rebellion are further fanned.
It is optional whether England derives sexual pleasure from punishing underaged America. It works either way.
Charles’ castle is essentially a boarding school. And his students must be at least occasionally disobedient. They are under a lot of stress, after all, with the death of Darwin and Shaw and the fate of the world on their shoulders etc.
Charles, to me, has always seemed to be the kind of man who would own a cane. Perhaps it’s a relic of his inheritance, something passed down from an ancestor, which has been propped up in a corner or hung above the mantle for quite some time and no one knows quite why. Or perhaps he bought it at a garage sale in a fit of pretentious irony.
Alex, in particular, with his anger issues and prison mentality, seems ripe for a frustrated outburst.
I picture Alex doing some serious damage one day, just out of sheer petulance, and Erik is fed up with this. He snatches the cane from its place of honor and uses his power to pin Alex down and give him a harsh beating. No matter that they are in front of everybody. Not even Charles can talk Erik down until Alex is almost crying.
The next day, things are tense and awkward. Alex seems quiet. Erik is ignoring everything. And Charles has a strange look on his face whenever he glances between them.
A couple of days later, Alex teases Erik into caning him again, and this time, Charles doesn’t stop him.
Iruka is a teacher. This is canon, but as far as we know, he does not condone corporal punishment. Kakashi thinks that this is a great shame. He confesses to Iruka, when they have gotten to the point in their relationship when it is safe to air out one’s strange kinks, that he wants them to try some student-teacher roleplay.
Iruka immediately shoots him down. As in, WTF, Kakashi? In my classroom? In my classroom where I teach actual children?
But Kakashi has his ways, of course he does. And sooner or later (perhaps after several cups of sake) Iruka will find himself behind a desk (could be in their bedroom, not a real classroom) wearing his teachery clothing.
While Kakashi’s outfit consists of a blazer, shorts, and white kneesocks.
Iruka facepalms, but at least Kakashi doesn’t look anything like any of his actual students, so they start. The “class” is full, and Iruka goes to the front and begins to teach.
Kakashi is mischevious.
Iruka gives him a warning.
Kakashi makes a sexual innuendo.
Iruka glares and gives him another warning.
Kakashi reads Ero Ero instead of paying attention.
Iruka privately thinks that this is too much like work, and gives Kakashi a detention.
Kakashi's expression says finally. When he is called up to the board, he gropes his sensei’s ass.
Well, shit. Iruka gets a switch from under his desk (how did that get there?) and tells Kakashi to bend over, facing the blackboard. In front of the entire “class”, Iruka gives him ten stripes. Then they have hot, kinky, dirtybadwrong sex.
And the next day, even though Iruka swore he cleaned every centimeter of the desk and aired out the room completely, he still can’t sit through the school day without getting uncomfortably hard.
Okay, so these read like story prompts. Uh ... anyone so inspired, feel free to take one or two or all. I may even try my hand at one someday. :)
