I feel like Kakashi likes to disarm people (and Iruka is someone with much armor), and if candor does the trick, then so be it. That, or Iruka just throws him off his game XD Glad you liked it!
Hopefully, the happy ending didn't feel tacked on ;_; it was something I had been planning all along, but since I cut out one part before it, it feels a bit like 'angst! + sudden!happiness' I have this huge weakness for happy endings, though, so I didn't think I could ever let it end with Kakashi's death~
